Memo to the Ministry of Economic Development, and other interested Statutory parties: Grant Norman King is still illegally running a business whilst an undischarged bankrupt.

It seems that when it comes to this website, GNK is the proverbial gift that keeps on giving.

Not content with the fact that he has now been thoroughly exposed as a fraudster and a scam artist, with a criminal history dating back 30 years; not content with the fact that when he goes down, he will be taking a number of his friends with him; not content with the fact that there are now more eyes on him then a theatre screen – GNK is right this minute in the process of trying pull the exact same scam that he pulled on me and my family.

This case relates to  a small studio that the buyer paid GNK a $4000.00 deposit for, to build on site.

The deposit was paid in November 2011 – and still no building activity has commenced.GNK’s reason for the delay? He told the buyer he had a “heart attack” – now, where have we heard this before, GNK claiming a sickness as a result of delayed, uncompleted work? Oh, yes, that’s right – HERE.

Hey GNK -want to convince us? Then simply give your Doctor your informed consent to release the details of your latest medical condition to this website 🙂

At the date GNK took the $4000 deposit from this client (17/11/11), he took an additional $3500 from me, pleading “poverty” to complete my Sleepout build, and goodness knows how many other deposits. He was also building David Swales Sleepout at the time – 3 guesses who paid for THAT material, as GNK owed David Swale around $40k in rent at the time? Naturally, this makes David Swale an accessory after the fact (see next post).

GNK has claimed to the buyer that he is “in recovery”, and that he will have the studio built in 3 weeks – ummmm, no, what GNK is doing is waiting to offload the building material that the client has paid for to a stolen goods receiver, most likely his good friends Michael Edmonds and Karina Mihaka, who are both now in Christchurch (Michael arrived this morning).

When confronted by the buyer about this website, GNK stated that he had permission from the Ministry of Economic Development to work-ummmmmm, again, no, both I and the buyer of this unit have checked with the MED Investigating Officer in charge of the investigation into GNK – no such permission has EVER been given, which means that GNK has no legal right to be running any sort of business – just like with us, GNK fraudulently took a deposit from this buyer under false pretenses, then failed to deliver any aspect of his undertakings, and then fled with the money. GNK needs to give the buyer (and us, and everyone else) our / their money back, and is an utter, utter scumbag for taking advantage of the trust and good nature of people, within his ongoing criminal behaviour.

GNK also stated that I was trying to “slander” him: no, you limp-dick, everything I write here about you is the truth, backed up with an evidential source – if you believe that I am defaming you – then go ahead and sue me, I dare you.

No wonder 103B Mill Rd (Grant’s factory at Swale Earthmovers) is boarded up – the bastard is still illegally trading and stealing.

One wonders how much evidence the respective Statutory Authorities need before they nail GNK – and if they don’t hurry up, then who knows, someone else might do it for them?

I do not get this bit

My question: Why would someone with $4,000 in their hand buy building materials and then on-sell them at a loss to a “stolen goods receiver”? If he did this he would only get a fraction of the $4,000 back – why not just keep the $4,000?

Hi Gavin, because he would need to account for the money being received at some stage, as their is an evidential trail to his bank account. GNK “launders” the money via purchasing building materials using other people’s money, uses the materials to build something else, and then sells that item to another customer. He kept my Sleepout money, built the sleepout, and then sold it to another customer, making two sets of profit on the one item.

He also operates in partnership with receivers, whereby the materials “disappear” – in reality, the sleepout is built on the receivers property, and they split the double-profit proceeds.
