A grand total of $210.50 has been earned on Trade me by Trident Cycles for the month of February 2014, according to the feedback record on the “Cycles2U” Trade Me account.

Now, bear in mind that Trident Cycles trade exclusively through Trade Me.

Trident Cycles and Grant King  might still be listed with Trade Me, but if the feedback record is anything to go by, then they are doing almost no business whatsoever.

Congratulations to the very helpful person from the cycling industry who tipped us off about Grant King’s intention to head down to the MTB Bike Festival & Trade Show being held this week.

I have spoken with the Festival organisers today, and they are well aware of who Grant King is, and under no circumstances will Grant King be “setting up shop” at the Festival – they are onto him, and he isn’t remotely welcome.

Once again as a result of the Consumer Advocacy Network that has grown within this website, the possibility of Grant King creating more fraud victims has been minimised.

I truly do have eyes everywhere, and thanks to another tip-off, can reveal the following:

First, we had NZ Sleepouts  – which I put out of business.

Then, we had NZ Kennels, – which I put out of business.

Then, we had Tern Anchor,  – which I put out of business.

Now, we have Trident Cycles:

Notice on the business card that there are two email addresses, one “corporate”, and one private (a very familiar Gmail account).

History teaches us that the reason Grant King has two email addresses is so that he can divert any income or sales of the product to his own personal bank account from anyone who contacts him on the personal email account, and not to the business who is unwittingly supplying him product – that way there is no record of the transaction, King walks away with the money, and the supplier is none the wiser.

King pulled the same trick at “Rocna Anchors”, who he embezzled for thousands of dollars, and stole product from.

Yes, folks, you have read the above correctly.

Grant Norman King, current bankrupt, and who the Official Assignee has opposed as being released from bankruptcy, has set up a FOURTH illegal business, right under the noses of the Official Assignee, called “Trident Cycles”.

The email I received from a very wise individual who Googled Grant King was as follows:

“Hi,

This might be another update for you.

I was at the Big Boys Toys last week. They had a display of bikes and the brand is called Trident. I had a wonderful and uplifting chat with this guy called Grant King and he was absolutely knowledgeable and confident. He did tell me that his website was not up yet. So I thought I do search his name just to see if the website was up. I could not believe it that it is the same Grant Norman king. He is the guy. Thick skinned guy. After what he did to all those people he dares to go in to business?

I have decided not to buy any of his bikes”

(Sigh): when is Grant Norman King ever going to learn?

“Batter up” for business number 4 going the same way as the previous three.

We had the pleasure of meeting one of the Chinese principals at the Auckland On the Water Boat Show – they seem to have some impressive products, including bikes for boats which were also on display. 

 

They are paying us from China, and from our dealings with Tern, all is as Grant represents them to be. He is their New Zealand salesman as he states.

 

I regret to advise that I don’t believe too much of what I read in blogs and social media. If I believed half what was written about me, I’d have given up long ago.

You are promoting a person in Grant King who has ripped off nearly 70 people for almost $3 million dollars in total over a 30 year period, a person who has had extensive mainstream media coverage of same, a person who has received 8 convictions in the past two years for running illegal companies and benefit fraud, a person who is a convicted child sex offender, and a person who will eventually deal to your organisation, just as he has dealt to everyone else who has had the folly to engage him.

 

Thankfully, the largest Marine ITO in the country has him on watch with their members, as they are more able to recognise real risk when they see it.

 

Google has done the rest – try Googling ‘Tern Anchor” or “Tern Marine” and see what comes up in the search string.

It all started a few weeks back with an anonymous tip-off.

I was sent a link to a company called “Tern Anchor”.

Notice the company address.

Looks familiar?

You bet it is: it was the last known address of NZ Sleepouts, and NZ Kennels, the two companies Grant King ran as an undischarged bankrupt, and for which he was prosecuted and sentenced in 2012.

So, I did some digging.

Turns out that “Tern Anchor” is linked to “Tern Marine Co (NZ) Ltd”.

Note the two Company Directors – they are Chinese, located here.

It’s the Trade Stand for “Tern Anchor” at the May 2013 Hutchwilco Boat Show, at which “Tern Anchor” is confirmed as an Exhibitor in the show, Stand 285.

Compare the livery of the above Trade Show Stand, with www.tern-anchor.com located at 103B Mill Rd, Helensville.

Ok, this is where the story gets really interesting.

Look at this forum post at Yachting & Boating World Forum.

The poster is Grant King, promoting the Tern Anchor range.

A couple of emails later, I was able to track down an attendee to the Hutchwilco Boatshow, who shall remain anonymous (as shall the identity of the original tipster).

The attendees report?

(Grant King)  was at the boat show with 3 Chinese men who
made his anchors.  

The same attendee was also a client of Grant King, and advised that he had bought a Tern Anchor off Grant King.

What does all this mean?

It means that, hot off the back of Ministry of Economic Development’s prosecution against Grant King for illegally operating not one, but two businesses, whilst an undischarged bankrupt in July 2012, King was back in (a third) illegal business as from 15/01/13, setting himself up as the NZ Distribution agent for Tern Anchors, using Chinese investors as the “fall guys” for his  illegal business actions.

All of the above evidence has been copied, saved, and sent to the relevant authorities, and of course, to an exclusive media contact.

So, once again, Grant King lines up the Statutory authorities, gives them the middle finger, and kicks them straight in the nuts.

One has to wonder how many times they will let themselves get mocked and kicked, before they nail Grant King for good?

The Marine Industry, and clients within the Marine Industry, appear to be Grant Kings next fraud victims. Bear in mind that it was Grant King that embezzled Rocna Anchors, and stole some of their product.
